A 25-year-old shopkeeper was beaten and stabbed to death by four men for resisting a robbery bid here, police said Monday.
Rahil Usmani was returning home from his shop Sunday night near Kamla Market area in central Delhi when four men overpowered him and tried to snatch his mobile and wallet.
When Usmani resisted their robbery attempt, they attacked him with a sharp edged weapon and stabbed him several times.
A passer by informed police about the incident. By the time police reached the spot, the attackers had run away. Usmani was rushed to hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police said the attackers have been arrested after being identified on footage of CCTV cameras installed at the spot. They are residents of the same area.
Police also recovered the looted mobile and wallet.
