New Delhi, June 05: Following a land dispute, thirty-seven year-old Nanvnath More of Chikhli opened fire on his cousin brothers on Friday evening, killing one of them, Bhanudas More (47).
Bhanudas’ brothers Vilas (45) and Gulab (40), also residents of Chikhli, sustained severe bullet injuries. They were admitted to a local hospital.
The Dehu Road police has arrested Navnath on charges of murder. Police have also recovered his revolver. According to the police, the More brothers own a piece of land in Chikhli area, on which are constructing bungalows. There was a dispute as Bhanudas and his two brother decided to construct the road going towards their bungalows from the land area owned by their cousin Navnath.
On Friday morning, Navnath objected to the construction of the road from his plot of land But Bhanudas, Gulab and Vilas maintained that they would construct the road in the same area. Due to this, the dispute between the cousins aggravated.
Around 5 pm, when the construction work was on, Navnath allegedly opened fire on his three cousins. A bullet hit Bhanudas, killing him on the spot. A bullet also penetrated Vilas’s head. He was admitted to the intensive care unit of a hospital. His situation was reported to be serious. Bullets also passed through the legs of Gulab.
On receiving the information, senior police officers from the Pune rural police rushed to the crime scene. A complaint of murder was lodged at the Dehu Road police station. Police have found that Navnath’s gun licence was valid.
