New Delhi, November 24: A person, who allegedly attacked an assistant sub-inspector of Delhi Police with a sword, was today remanded in two-day police custody by a local court.
Metropolitan Magistrate Saurabh Kulshrestha sent Umesh alias Sandeep to custodial interrogation till November 26.
The accused was arrested yesterday for allegedly making an attempt on the life of Ranbir, the ASI, when he allegedly went to Gurudwara to catch him for “attacking” a priest there.
According to the police, the ASI along with other personnel rushed to Amar Colony last evening after receiving a call that a man had allegedly attacked a priest inside a gurudwara in the locality.
Umesh injured the police officer when he tried to nab him. However, other policemen accompanying the ASI apprehended the accused who has been booked under various provisions of the IPC including that of attempt to murder.
