Man sends lewd message to actress, booked

Mumbai: Police booked a case against a man for allegedly harassing an actress. He reportedly sent a lewd message to her. Actress also alleged that he was calling her frequently on phone and WhatsApp.

According to the report published in Hindustan Times, a 27-year-old small-time actress filed a complaint against the accused, Vishwanath Shetty at Oshiwara police station. She claimed that the accused called her prostitute.

It may be mentioned that this is not the first complaint lodged against him for indulging in such activities. Earlier, he was booked for allegedly sexually harassing another woman. Surprisingly, no action has been taken against the accused despite two complaints filed against him.

As per Oshiwara police, both victim and accused are members of the same gym which is located on New Link Road in Andheri (west). It was also revealed that the accused is a local political worker.

In the complaint, the actress said that accused was calling her frequently. Vexed with this, she asked him why he is troubling her. In reply, he allegedly called her prostitute.

Unable to bear the harassment, actress after consulting her family and friends, decided to file a complaint against the accused. Actress lodged a complaint against Shetty on Wednesday night. As an evidence, she submitted screenshots of the message which accused sent her.

Giving the details of the case, Mr. Subhash Khanvilkar, Senior Police Inspector of Oshiwara Police Station said that police is investigating the case and action will be taken after verifying the allegations.

Earlier, at Amboli Police Station, another actress lodged a complaint against Shetty. She alleged that he was stalking her.
