Man refuses to share liquor, kills friend

New Delhi, March 21: Unwilling to part with his tipple, a security guard killed a man who insisted on sharing his liquor, police said Monday.
Police received a tip-off that a body was lying in a drain near Pratap Gas Agency at Khanjhawala road in north Delhi.

The body bore injury marks and a mobile phone was found near it which was ringing. On attending the call, the body was identified as that of Surender, 30, a resident of Mangolpuri, said Deputy Commissioner of Police Chhaya Sharma.

“On further probe, we found that Birpal, a security guard at the gas agency had committed the crime. He was hiding at Avantika Park from where he was arrested,” Sharma said.

Birpal told police that at 3 a.m. Sunday, while he was having liquor in the agency complex, Surender came and requested him for a drink. Birpal refused.

“A heated argument ensued. Birpal got furious and hit Surender’s head with an iron rod. Thereafter, he dragged the body and dumped it in the drain,” said Sharma.
