A 44-year-old Iraqi partner, HAJ, allegedly raped a job seeker by taking advantage of being alone with her in his office, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
The 30-year-old victim, EMK, Egyptian visitor, testified that she read an ad in a local newspaper for a secretary.
“I called the given number, but the advertiser asked me to call him the next day. I called him the next day and asked to set an appointment… since I was on a visit visa and do not know the locations we agreed that I will call him once I am in a taxi so he will guide the driver… I arrived in the company at around 1.30pm… As I got in the studio flat, he closed the door… He interviewed me for about 10 minutes then he started shrowing flattering expressions… I stood up and tried to leave the place, but he walked behind me and told that the door is locked…He pushed me back and forced me on to a table… undressed me and raped me… I left the place and notified the police later in the evening,” testified the victim.
The accused was arrested in Al Sabkha Area and claimed he is Syrian. When confronted with his real name he admitted that he lied but denied raping the complainant.
However, forensic reported bruises and scratches on her body that proved being subject to rape. DNA test also proved his sperms in on the victim’s body.
