Man pushes lover from top of waterfall

Bhadrachalam, September 24: In a gruesome incident, a youth pushed his lover into a 40-ft deep Bagada waterfalls near Wazedu village yesterday. When she was still alive after the fall, he strangulated her to death with her chunni. The incident came to light today.

Wazedu sub-inspector N Karunakar said Bolle Narasimha Rao (28) of Srirampuram fell in love with Garapu Nagalakshmi (19) of the same village.

The love affair between the two continued for three years and Nagalakshmi started pressurising him to marry her in recent months. When the love affair went to the notice of village elders, they held a panchayat and directed Narasimha Rao to marry Nagalakshmi.

Though he agreed to marry her before the village elders, he did not show any interest in marrying her. Nagalakshmi threatened to lodge a police complaint against him if he failed to marry her. Following the threat, Narasimha Rao decided to eliminate her.

In pursuance of a plan, he took her to Bagada waterfalls.

After reaching the top of the waterfalls, he raped Nagalakshmi and later he pushed her down. When he noticed that she was still alive, he strangulated her to death and fled.

Based on a complaint by Nagalakshmi’s mother Sammakka, the Wazedu police have registered rape and murder case against Narasimha Rao who is at large.
