Man murdered his girlfriend, shoved her body inside a trolley bag for having intimate relationship with another man

New Delhi: Police have arrested a man who allegedly murdered his girlfriend, shoved her body inside a trolley bag, and fled after handing over the luggage to an e-rickshaw driver, asking him to carry it to the metro station at east Delhi’s Mayur Vihar.

The accused is a resident of Chilla Village near Mayur Vihar Extension and was in a relationship with the woman for around the past one and a half years, DCP (East) B S Gurjar said today.

Things turned bad when accused found out that his girlfriend also had an intimate relationship with another man.

He allegedly strangulated the woman to death on Wednesday and stuffed her body inside a trolley bag, which he handed over to an e-rickshaw driver asking him to carry it to the Mayur Vihar metro station, where he would be there to receive it again, said police.

When he did not turn up, the e-rickshaw driver left the vehicle and started looking for him. Meanwhile, people in the area raised an alarm about a suspicious object on an abandoned vehicle. When a police constable inspected the bag, he found the body of the woman.

A case of murder was registered and a police team formed to crack the case. They zeroed in on the accused through local intelligence and technical surveillance, following which he was arrested yesterday, police added.
