Man molests woman on flight, gets arrested

New Delhi: A resident of Gurgaon, Mohit Kanvar was arrested on Monday morning for groping a woman seated next to him on a Delhi-Mumbai flight.

He allegedly groped the woman seated next to him several times. When the woman complained and was changing her seat, he passed a remark: “You do not like to be touched?”

The woman is a lawyer and was on her way back to Mumbai from Delhi on a Monday morning flight, the police told HT.

The woman said that around 8.30am, mid-flight, the accused touched her with his left hand and left leg.
When she turned to tell him to sit properly, she saw he had kept his eyes closed. She then pulled down the arm rest to distance herself from him.

The woman said Kanvar then folded his right arm towards her and groped her again. When the air hostess advised him, he abused her as well.

On speaking with the pilot, she was allowed to change her seat. When the plane landed at the CST International Airport, the pilot alerted the Sahar police and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

The CISF handed him over to the Sahar police. The man was booked under section 354 (molestation) of the Indian Penal Code.
