Man lynched for killing minor servant in Jharkhand

Jharkhand, September 02: After Andhra Pradesh reported two consecutive cases of mob rule running amok, a similar incident took place in a village in Dumka district of Jharkhand.

A man, accused of killing his servant, was beaten to death in full public view and shockingly, in the presence of police on Tuesday.

Surjeet, who allegedly shot dead his 10-year-old domestic help in a fit of rage, was attacked by the agitated villagers at his residence.

In the heat of the moment, Surjeet apparently pulled out a pistol. Enraged, the villagers started beating him.

Shockingly, the merciless bashing continued even after police reached the spot. Instead of taking control of the situation, the policemen pleaded with crowd to stop, but to no avail.

The men in Khaki stood as mere spectators, while the mob delivered its version of justice. It stopped only when Surjeet was dead.
