Gurgaon, March 29: An army man strangled to death his 30-year-old wife in front of their four-year-old son and locked up the boy in a room with the dead body, police said Tuesday.
The gruesome incident happened at their Sushant Estate house.
“Monika, who worked with a telecom company, was strangulated to death two days ago. Her husband Hari Prakash, an army man, is the prime accused as his 4-year-old-son is an eyewitness,” a senior police officer said.
According to police, Prakash and Monika used to argue on petty issues and their fight turned violent Sunday when he murdered his wife in front of his son.
He later locked up his son with the body in a room, the official added.
The body was discovered by a neighbour, who informed the police.
Police said Monika was murdered two days ago as the body had started decomposing.
The body has been sent for autopsy.
