Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh), April 09: A businessman here took his life after firing at his wife and teenaged son in a car, police said Saturday. The man’s wife and son are battling for life.
Bhupesh Goyal, 45, a resident of Civil Lines locality, took the extreme step late Friday in Nai Mandi area.
“According to eyewitnesses, the Wagon R that was being driven by Bhupesh Goyal suddenly came to a halt, following which gunshots were heard,” police inspector Dulare Lal told reporters in Muzaffarnagar, some 350 km from Lucknow.
Police are yet to establish the reason behind the act.
“When police reached the spot, it found Bhupesh dead with a revolver in one his hands. His wife and son, who also had bullet injuries, were lying in a pool of blood and were rushed to a hospital,” he added.
The two were referred to Meerut early Saturday after their condition deteriorated.
Goyal was a businessman, involved in scrap metal and stationery.
