Madrid: A 26-year-old man from Madrid has been arrested on suspicion of killing his 66-year-old mother, Spanish police said on Friday.
According to the police, the son killed her mother and then cut up her remains and stored them in Tupperware containers.
The incident came to light when the victim’s friend contacted the police and said she hadn’t seen her for about a month, following which police visited the deceased’s home on Thursday.
A national police spokesman stated that on entering the house in the central Salamanca neighbourhood “Police found the woman, cut into parts,” and her “remains stored in different Tupperware boxes around the house.”
Police said that on suspicion of killing his mother, the son was immediately arrested adding that the suspect had previously been arrested 12 times, for different reasons.
Local media suggested the suspect had been engaging in cannibalism (To consume the same species) but there was no confirmation from the police.
