New Delhi, June 13: A 25-year-old final-year B.Sc. student allegedly killed his two daughters (one four years old and the other 18 months) and hacked their bodies into several parts with a sharp-edged object at Jever village in neighbouring Greater Noida on Thursday evening. Though he initially tried to dispose of the bodies, the accused apparently had a change of heart and walked up to the police station and confessed.
While the accused, Yogesh Sharma, told the police he wanted to commit suicide after killing his daughters but could not bring himself to do so, there were allegations he killed his daughters as he wanted only sons. The police has registered a case of murder against Yogesh and eight of his family members following allegations by his in-laws that the entire family had conspired to kill the girls. Yogesh’s in-laws alleged that he was in an extramarital relationship.
