Man kills colleague after altercation

Panaji, June 15: A 26-year-old restaurant employee was murdered in Panaji, allegedly by a former colleague, while on his way to his room late on Saturday
night.

Panaji police said the deceased, Khushi Jamir, a native of Nagaland was employed as a kitchen helper with a city restaurant.

At around 11.30 pm, Jamir was returning to his accommodation when he was allegedly attacked by Vikram Saba, 20, of Nepal. Saba allegedly stabbed Jamir with a knife on his head, neck and stomach. Police said Jamir lost his bearings and fell down the stairs, while Saba fled. People passing by alerted the police and an ambulance was called, but the paramedics declared Jamir dead.

Police, upon inquiry, found that Saba is a former employee of the same restaurant, where Jamir worked. “They had altercations in the past and Saba had quit the job just a day before the incident,” a police official said. Saba is absconding and a police team has left for Nepal in search of him.
