New Delhi, May 10: A 48-year-old man was today killed and his son injured when a motorcycle-borne miscreant allegedly fired at them in north-west Delhi after they resisted his attempt to snatch their cash bag. K K Bansal and his son Nitin, in his twenties, were shot at by a man on a motorcycle as they reached near their office in Trinagar”s Narang Colony at 12:15 pm, a senior police officer said.
The father-son duo were returning after withdrawing money from the Axis Bank branch in Peetampura. They reside in Keshavpuram area.
The accused, who belongs to Bahadurgarh, opened fire at them when they resisted his attempts to snatch the cash bag from them. A bullet hit Bansal”s stomach while another hit Nitin”s right hand, the officer said.
As they raised an alarm, locals rushed to the spot and managed to nab the culprit. Bansal and Nitin were rushed to Maharaja Agrasen Hospital where the father was declared brought dead.
Nitin is undergoing treatment at the hospital with doctors saying that he is out of danger. A case has been registered and further investigations are on.
