Man killed in fight over parking

A fight over parking claimed the life of a 57-year-old in the Anand Parbat area of the central district on Tuesday evening.

Police officers said an argument broke out after one Bhoj Raj asked victim Raj Kumar to remove his car from where he had parked it outside his factory. Bhoj Raj owned a factory adjacent to Kumar’s.

New Delhi, Dec 09: Things turned ugly when their sons came out and joined in, police officers said. An officer said: “Kumar’s two sons Atul and Puneet defended their father’s decision not to budge. Bhoj Raj and his sons Rajat and Ritesh allegedly hit Kumar and pushed him, which led to his death.” He was taken to the Jivanmala nursing home, officers said.

Bhoj Raj and his two sons have been arrested, the police said. A case has been registered under Section 304A — culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Preliminary investigations showed there were no external injuries on Kumar.

Family members of the victim, however, have called the assault murder. Relative Subhash Chauhan said Kumar was beaten up with rods. “It is murder and we want proper action against the accused.”
