A man allegedly killed his eight-year-old daughter after his wife went to her parent’s house, following serious differences and battering. Venkataswamy is a resident of Yellur village.
The victim, who was staying in a hostel, had arrived for the Republic Day holidays. He allegedly strangulated her to death while washing clothes. She was the eldest of three children.
Venkataswamy, a regular drunkard often harass his wife. On the ill-fated day after a heated argument, he allegedly slapped his wife. Due to this, she rushed to her parent’s house.
Neighboring residents expressed anguish over his committing the offence in a drunken condition. Police are investigating.
