Man intervenes in scuffle; killed

New Delhi, November 02: A 32-year-old man had to pay with his life when he intervened in a scuffle between two groups of youngsters following which one of them allegedly stabbed him in south-east Delhi, police said today.

The incident was reported from Taimur Nagar in New Friends Colony police station area late last night and the victim has been identified as Govardhan, who works in a dairy in the area.

Govardhan intervened in a fight between four men, who were under the influence of alcohol, outside a dairy owned by one Zile Singh where he was working for the past 15 years.

“He intervened and asked them to leave the area. A verbal altercation followed and one of them took out a knife and stabbed Govardhan on his chest,” a senior police official said.
