A man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a constable attached to a court when he was returning to Tirubhuvanam from Manamadurai in a bus late last night after completing his duty. Police said Anand of Uchipali stabbed the constable in a fit of anger following a wordy duel between them. Other passengers in the bus overpowered Anand as the constable raised an alarm after his throad was slit by him, police said. The constable had been admitted to the Madurai Government Rajaji Hospital in a serious condition. The incident, which occurred in the same block where young Sub-Inspector Alwyn Sudhan was murdered on October 30 during Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar guru pooja, shocked the locals. PTI
