New Delhi, December 11: A person was arrested here for allegedly selling low quality alcohol in the guise of high-end premium brands, police said today.
Jai Prakash was caught from Jehangirpuri A-Block yesterday after he was enticed by a decoy customer to sell a bottle of duplicate Chivas Regal for Rs 2,000, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-West) N S Bundela said.
After receiving information about Prakash allegedly selling liquor, a constable was sent to his home as a decoy customer. The constable fetched a bottle of Chivas Regal for Rs 2,000 allegedly from Prakash.
“Prakash used to purchase Director’s Special brand whisky from Haryana and empty bottles of premium brands from ragpickers. He used to fill the low quality whisky into premium brand bottles and sell the same in open market and banquet halls,” Bundela said.
