The Narsingi police on Monday arrested a man on the charges of murdering his wife with the help of a woman with whom he had an illicit affair.
The accused, Eshwaraiah alias Eshaiah, 40, allegedly strangled his wife Saiamma, 38, about two months ago at their residence in Gandhamguda near Perumcheruvu. He allegedly committed the crime with the help of his lover Tirumalamma.
According to Narsingi inspector P Ramchander Rao, police began investigations after Saiamma’s relatives approached them stating that they did not heard from her for the last two months. On suspicions, Eswaraiah was taken into custody and during interrogation he committed of murdering his wife and burying her body in a vacant plot. At his instance, the body was exhumed.
A team of forensic experts led by Dr Taqiuddin Khan, HOD, Forensic and Toxicology Department of Osmania General Hospital, conducted a spot autopsy.
A case of murder has been registered against Eshaiah who has been arrested and efforts are on to nab Tirumalamma who is said to be absconding. (INN)
