Srikakulam, September 26: A daily labourer has been arrested on Sunday after his 13-year-old daughter lodged a complaint against him for sexually molesting with her at Ingham village, Kothur mandal in Srikakulam district.
According to police, the incident took place when the girl was alone with her father after her mother who too was a labourer, had gone for work.
The labourer is believed to have claimed that he was unwell and stayed at home.
The girl in her complaint stated that her father had touched her private parts. The girl informed the matter to her mother on her return. When the woman accosted her husband, he denied the deed and feigned innocence.
The victim then gathered courage and approached the police who took the man under custody.
A case has been registered under section 354 IPC against the labourer.
