A 25-year-old man was arrested for sexually abusing his 10-year-old cousin at their resident in Meerpet Police station limits two days ago.
Yadgiri is from Pragati Nagar Colony in Jillelaguda and the victim is his aunt’s daughter. Yadgiri and his cousin’s mothers are sister and both the sisters along with their children have been staying at Pragati Nagar Colony since the past several years after they were desolate by their respective husbands . Both the sisters were daily-wage workers.
According to Meerpet inspector P Sreedhar Reddy, on Friday evening, when both the sisters were out of the house, Yadgiri sexually abused his cousin.The victim is a local school student and when she stopped going to school her mother noticed sudden change in her daughter and asked her what had happened on Saturday night and the unpleasant behaviour of Yadgiri came to light. Police registered a case against Yadgiri based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother under section 354-A (Explicit sexual overtures and demanding sexual favours) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and arrested him on Sunday.
