Balasore (Odisha): A court here today sentenced a man to life imprisonment for killing his wife in 2013.
Additional Judge of District Court-1 Ajanta Sadangi also imposed on Shyamsundar Panda a penalty of Rs 15,000.
According to prosecution, Shyamsunder, a resident of Dolapur village under Khantapada police station area, killed his wife and tried to pass it off as a case of suicide in 2013.
The father of Smritisnigdha Panda, who had married Shyamsunder in 2005, filed a complaint after it was confirmed in post-mortem that she was strangulated to death.
