Palani: In what is considered a major security lapse, a 30-year-old man was found hanging near the golden tower of the famous Dhandayuthapaniswamy temple here today.
No one is allowed near the tower without personal authorisation of the Temple Executive Officer, who is in the rank of Joint Commissioner, police said and wondered how the man managed to reach the spot and hang himself.
An enquiry was being held on the security lapses in the area, they added.
