The UAE’s top court fined an Emirati husband Dh4,000 for beating up and insulting his wife, upholding two previous court sentences.
A court of initial instance in Sharjah earlier ordered the unnamed man to pay Dh2,000 for beating up his wife and Dh2,000 for insulting her in front of others.
He appealed the sentence but lost the case. He again appealed at the Federal Supreme Court which supported the two previous sentences.
