Ludhiana, Dec 02: Thirty five-year old Sanjeev Kumar alias Kala was done to death by five unidentified persons outside a liquor vend in Partap Singh Wala village on Tuesday night. Kumar was repeatedly stabbed in the stomach by the assailants resulting in his death.
The victim’s family alleged that Kala, who ran a lottery business, had been killed by the people with whom he had a running dispute over his lottery business. The police have registered an FIR, but has not made any arrest so far.
The family members of Sanjeev today staged a dharna outside the liquor vend demanding its closure. They said that a lot of fights were taking at this place and even in the past as well, many bloody clashes had taken place.
According to the reports, Sanjeev drank liquor along with one of his employees at the liquor ven ahata. When he came out of the ahata, five persons came in a car and attacked Sanjeev with knives.
He was taken to DMC&H in a serious condition, where he succumbed to his injuries. The employee accompanying Kumar was also injured in the attack, and was admitted to DMC&H.
