Man dies while saving cyclist

New Delhi, August 24: A 35-year-old man died in the national capital when his motorcycle hit the pavement while trying to save a cyclist in south-east Delhi, police said today.

The victim, identified as Darmiyan Singh, a driver, was returning home when the incident took place in Sangam Vihar last night.

A cyclist came in front of his motorcycle and Singh tried to avoid the cyclist, police said, adding after which his vehicle hit the pavement.

He suffered head injuries and was rushed to AIIMS Trauma Centre where doctors declared him brought dead.

In another incident, a 17-year-old boy sustained injuries after he fell down from a moving blueline bus in Saket of south Delhi this morning.

Anurodh Kumar, a resident of Madangir, was going to Government School when the incident took place. He is a Class IX student.

He was taken to a nearby hospital from where he was discharged after first aid.
