Brooklyn, January 25: A 22-year-old man died when he accidentally fell into a tortilla mixing machine in Brooklyn.
Police has ruled out any criminal intent in the accident. The incident happened on Monday morning at about 2:30am. The police revealed that they answered to a 911 call and when they reached Tortilleria Chinantla the man was unconscious. He was pronounced dead later. The police believe that he died as a result of the accident.
The man was only identified as Hispanic and the police are trying to find out what exactly caused the accident. They are also investigating whether there was any safety violation at the workplace that may have triggered the accident. The police wants to notify the family of the man before they name him.
The police spent hours at the scene of the accident as they collected all the available evidence that may eventually reveal what happened during the last hours of the man.
Tortilleria Chinantla has been making tortillas since 1992. The company supplies both local and international list of restaurants. The company also sells some of the tortillas at the local markets.
