A 48-year-old man has been arrested on charges of harassing his wife 25 years after marriage for an additional dowry of Rs ten lakh, police said today.
Kalanjiam had allegedly threatened his wife two days ago that he would upload their intimate scenes through You Tube/ internet if her family did not pay up, police said.
When they got married, he was given as dowry gold ornaments weighing 42 sovereigns and some cash, police said.
His wife had been staying with her parents for the past few years as he allegedly beat her and had illicit relationships with other women, police said.
On a complaint, he was arrested and remanded to police custody last night, sources said.
The couple has two children.
