A man allegedly committed suicide by hanging from a tree in Hapud dehat area of the district, police said today. According to the police, the deceased identified as Sachit Tyagi, a resident of Sarvodaya Nagar, had eloped with a married woman from his neighbourhood and married her. The woman’s first husband had registered a case against Tyagi in this matter, following which the police arrested him. After he was released from jail, police said, Tyagi met his first wife, who refused to accept him and later went to meet his second wife, whom he could not contact. Police said the man allegedly committed suicide due to remorse, adding that investigations are on to identify the cause behind taking the step. PTI
