A 29-year-old man allegedly attempted suicide near the Raj Bhavan, the Andhra Pradesh governor’s residence, here today by consuming some poisonous substance, the police said.
Pavan Kumar, hailing from Kadapa district, was found unconscious with a bottle of pesticide, the police said, adding that he also carried a note which mentioned that he resorted to the extreme step due to being depressed over not getting back his money given to to a person in Kadapa.
The note said that though he had complained to the police, no action was initiated to redress his grievance, the Punjagutta police said.
Kumar was immediately hospitalised after the incident and a case under Section 309 (attempt to commit suicide) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against him.
Further investigation is on, the police said.
