Enraged over his turban being knocked off, a Sikh man stabbed two persons with his kirpan, killing one and injuring another. Satvinder Singh, resident of Ameerpet was travelling on his scooter when he collided with local businessman Rishi Sehgal and fell down from his vehicle near Sona Bai temple around 11.45 am.
Upon this, Rishi laughed at Satvinder and this provoked the latter to beat up Rishi. Rishi’s brother Ranjit, who runs a fast-food joint nearby, immediately rushed to his brother’s rescue along with his workers and they began dragging Satvinder towards the SR Nagar police station with the intention of handing him over to the police.
Meanwhile, Satvinder’s turban got dislodged and the enraged sardar then whipped out his kirpan and stabbed Ranjit and his employee Subash. While Ranjit succumbed to injuries, Subash is said to be out of danger.
