New Delhi,May 29: In a unique case where a woman has come to the defence of her daughter-in-law and demanded arrest of her son for assault and attempt to murder, police have registered a case against a resident of Farsh Bazaar in east Delhi for attempting to murder his wife. The case has been filed by the accused Sanjay’s (37), mother Kamlesh.
According to the police, Sanjay had a tiff with his wife Manju (34) over his drinking habits. The accused reportedly came home on Thursday afternoon at 3:30 pm after a binge drinking session and demanded lunch.
Manju apparently fought with him over his drinking habits and Sanjay, in a fit of rage, hit his wife on the head with a hammer and threw her from the first floor balcony. Manju is reported to be critical.
The husband-wife lives on the first floor of their house in Farsh Bazaar with their three children while Sanjay’s parents live on the ground floor. Based on a statement by Kamlesh, the police are searching for Sanjay who is absconding. Manju has been admitted to a government Hospital.
