Man arrested for stealing motorcycles

New Delhi: A 37-year-old man who allegedly used to steal motorcycles from different areas of south east Delhi has been arrested here, the police said today.

The accused, Imran Khan, used to steal motorcycles from different parts of south east Delhi and was arrested from Sangam Vihar area with a stolen two-wheeler, it said.

He has five children, three of whom are studying at a boarding school and one at Kendriya School. In order to live a comfortable life and to pay the school fees of his children, he used to steal motorcycles, DCP (Southeast) Romil Baaniya said.

He used a master key to steal the vehicles and it has been recovered from his possession, he said.

He used to park the stolen vehicles at commom places like parks, hospitals etc and used to fix the number plate of his own motorcycle on the vehicles to mislead the police during checking, the officer said.

He sold spare parts like tyres, headlight etc of the vehicles.
