New Delhi, March 22: A 32-year-old man, who allegedly used to sell LPG cylinders at much higher prices in the black market after taking them forcibly from gas agencies, was arrested, police said today.
32-year-old Shakir, a resident of Malviya Nagar in Delhi, was arrested from his “hideout” and two gas cylinders, one GAITY and motorcycle used in commission of crime were recovered from him.
The police action came based on a complaint by Kanta Manchanda from Sanik Farms in New Delhi that Shakir used to take around eight to ten gas cylinders daily from her delivery boys and when her boys resisted then he used to intimidate or beat them.
“When the villagers used to protest about his activities then he used to injure himself and create a scene to scare them away,” police said.
During interrogation, it was revealed that accused Shakir is a school dropout and has five children.
