Guntur, October 08: A woman was allegedly raped by her father-in-law here in Sitamma Colony because the accused wanted an heir to the family. Though the incident occured on October 1, a complaint was filed only today.
Reportedly, the accused, Bandari Yedukondalu, has two sons who are both childless.
His elder son Venkateswarlu married seven years ago and younger son Srinivasa Rao married two and half years ago.
It is alleged that Yedukondalu, with the help of his wife, administered sleeping pills to his younger daughterin- law by telling her that the pills would help her in conceiving and raped her after tying her to a cot.
The younger son was away on business to Sattenapalli when the incident occured.
The vicitim narrated the incident to her husband who informed the matter to his relatives. Finally, the victim filed a complaint today. Guntur west DSP K Koteswara Rao said cases have been registered under section 376 and 109 IPC on Yedukondalu and his wife Ramanamma.
