Man acquitted of charge of killing wife

New Delhi, November 03: A man, accused of killing his wife by beating and inflicting several scissor blows in 2004, has been acquitted by a Delhi court giving him the benefit of doubt and saying the chain of events in the case was not complete.

“The chain of incriminating circumstances cannot be said to have been complete to hold that the charges were proved against accused Anil Kumar,” Additional Sessions Judge J R Aryan said.

Rajni was allegedly stabbed to death at her matrimonial home at Lajpat Nagar on November 21, 2004, by her husband Anil who took his three minor children to the residence of their maternal grandmother before the incident.

In a case based on circumstantial evidence as there was no eye-witness, the court gave the benefit of doubt to Anil.
