West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been named among the 100 most influential people in the world by the prestigious Time magazine in its 2012 list.
‘Popularly known as ‘Didi’, Ms Banerjee had proved her credentials as ‘street fighter to the electoral battle,’ the magazine said.
The list also includes US President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the supreme religios leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu and the Chief Justice of Supreme Court of Pakistan Iftikhar Chaudhry has also been named in the 100 most influential list.
