Kolkata, May 20: Left Front partner All India Forward Bloc today accused Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee of practising ‘double standards’ by continuing as a minister in the UPA government despite snapping ties with the Congress for the civic polls in West Bengal.
“She has to explain it to the people. Why is she not explaining this in her campaign for the civic election?” Ashok Ghosh, state general secretary of the AIFB, a constituent of the Left Front government in the state, told a meet-the-press programme here, blaming the Trinamool Congress for dumping the alliance with the Congress.
He, however, said that the May 30 civic poll would be a tough battle, but the Left was determined to fight it out.
