Kurseong (West Bengal) : West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday said her party does not believe in fear tactics, adding that it wants to work for the people.
“There should be no black money involved during the election. We formed the GTA (Gorkha Territorial Authority), allocated crores of rupees for development and formed several development boards for different communities. We do not support politics over development. We do not believe in fear tactics. We want to work for the people,” Mamata said while campaigning for the upcoming Assembly elections here.
“I came here during landslide and earthquake. You are very close to my heart. I love the people of the hills. I say the same thing in the hills and in the plains. I don’t say fake things. I want development for the hills,” she added.
Expressing confidence of emerging victorious in the assembly polls, Mamata said the TMC is not scared of any conspiracy.
“There is a voice in Bengal.to bring the TMC. No one else will win the election. We are not scared of any conspiracy. Some people do not want me to come to the hills. Who are they to stop me? This is my motherland,” she said.
The West Bengal polls will be held in six phases. Polling for the first phase will take place on April 4 and 11, polling for the second phase will be held on April 17, the third phase on April 21, fourth on April 25 and the fifth and six phases on April 30 and May 5 respectively.
The counting of votes will take place on May 19. (ANI)
