Mamata arrives in Dhaka, hails ‘historic’ LBA

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who arrived here on Friday for a two-day official visit, hailed the Land Boundary Agreement (LBA) as ‘historic’.
“Land boundary agreement will be historic,” she told ANI.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to leave for Bangladesh on Saturday morning.

He will attend several programmes in the neighbouring country, which include meeting his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina.

To promote greater people-to-people ties and connectivity, Prime Minister Modi, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Mamata Banerjee will flag off bus services on the Kolkata-Dhaka-Agartala and the Dhaka-Shillong-Guwahati routes respectively.

The Prime Minister had earlier in a post on his Facebook page said that he was looking forward to his visit “with a great sense of enthusiasm and delight”. (ANI)
