Mamata among those who speak in the tone of Pakistan: Modi

Barrackpore: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched a scathing attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and other leaders of the anti-BJP alliance, accusing them of disregarding the nation’s security and speaking in the tone of Pakistan.

Accusing the opposition of endorsing fake news spread by terrorists in Pakistan, supporting the separatists in Jammu and Kashmir and questioning the patriotism of country’s soldiers, Modi said people of the country will not trust or depend upon such leaders.

“When we conduct surgical strike, air strike, they believe in what Pakistan says. When our forces kill the terrorists by entering their homes, these people ask for evidence. Maybe, they wear such glasses that they cannot see the evidence,” Modi said at an election rally in Jagaddal under the Barrackpore Lok Sabha seat.

“Mamata didi is also one of the members of the group which sings paeans to Pakistan. When the whole world was holding Pakistan responsible for its actions, didi and her fellow members in this group were busy blaming Modi,” he said.

Modi said certain leaders in the opposition alliance openly support the terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir and say their decision to take up arms is correct while some others dare to question the patriotism and valour of country’s armed forces by saying that people join the Army just for earning their livelihood.

“Can such leaders be trusted or depended upon?” he asked.

Comparing Banerjee with the British rulers, Modi said like the imperial forces, the current Bengal Chief Minister is also following the policy of divide and rule.

“Like the British, didi also believes in divide and rule whereas the motto of our government has been to unite and to serve people,” he said.

Modi, who held another election rally in Bengal’s Sreerampur parliamentary constituency earlier in the day, congratulated the massive gathering at the Jalebi Ground in Bhatpara and said it seems the people of Bengal are competing with each other in showing their support to him and the BJP.
