Mumbai, August 22: After loading another feather of honor in her cap by an Honorary Citizenship and Official Resolution by the City of Los Angeles Bollywood siren Mallika Sherawat is riding on cloud nine.
Mallika Sherawat was found partying with friends and family members after she received it.
Mallika Sherawat received this prestigious honour in front of the members of entertainment industry, friends, family and fans during a ceremony at Los Angeles City Hall in an event of 15th August Indian Independence Day.
In the City Hall Council Chambers, the council member Jose Huizar presented this honour to Mallika. The actress accepted the Resolution, which was signed by the Mayor and all City Council members, before giving an inspiring speech with the huge round of applause throughout the hall.
During the thanking speech and acceptance, the actress became emotional and said that she is deeply, and humbly, grateful for this grand honour, in addition to thanking the council members.
Mallika Sherawat also mentioned, “As the first Indian Bollywood actor to receive this recognition, I proudly accept it in honour of my home country, mother India, and my beloved Bollywood, the world’s largest film industry.”
