Malkajgiri MLA denies joining YSRCP

Malkajgiri MLA Akula Rajender on Tuesday denied reports that appeared in a section of media that he was joining the YSR Congress party.

Talking to reporters in the Assembly premises, the Congress MLA said that he would stay with the Congress party throughout his life. He alleged that some leaders, who were aspiring to get some posts, were spreading baseless rumours against him as a part of conspiracy.

However, Rajender said that he respects former Chief Minister late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy for grooming his political career. He said that he was elected as a member of the State Legislative Assembly due to YSR. But, he said that YSR was a leader of Congress party till his death and therefore, he too would stay with the party till his last breath.

The Malkajgiri MLA said that the YSR planted a tree by way of forming the Congress Government in the State in 2009 and it was his responsibility to protect the same till 2014. He refused to comment on other leaders who are leaving the Congress party to join the YSRCP. (INN)
