The now deleted video of 19-year-old in her freshman year at Harvard University smoking was posted by a site Barstool Sports on Instagram Thursday.
Dozens of social media users criticised her while both Ivanka Trump and Chelsea Clinton came to the defense of Malia.
Former first daughter, Chelsea Clinton jumped to Malia’s defence. “Malia Obama’s private life, as a young woman, a college student, a private citizen, should not be your clickbait. Be better,” she wrote on Twitter.

Ivanka Trump followed up Clinton’s remarks, she said: “Malia Obama should be allowed the same privacy as her school-aged peers. She is a young adult and private citizen, and should be OFF limits.”
