Malegaon bomb blast case, Col. Purohit’s judgment postponed

Mumbai: It was expected that the judgment of Malegaon Bomb Blast case of 2008 would be pronounced yesterday but the judge postponed it to 26th September. The judge had started writing judgment after the completion of all the arguments but Col. Purohit told the court that necessary sanction for prosecuting him is not appropriate and it is full of mistakes. He also alleged that he has been implicated falsely. On the other hand, the lawyers of Jamiatul Ulema told the court that there are concrete proofs of Col. Purohit’s involvement in the bomb blast case. The lawyer of NIA has also requested to release him on bail. After the release of key accused of Samjhota express, Swami Aseemanad’s release, the lawyers of Col. Purohit are hope full that their client will also be released on bail since 8 years have passed after the registration of this case and hearing has not yet taken place.

Legal experts are of the opinion that it will be a very important judgment for NIA judge. They also say that due to technical lapses, Col. Purohit may get benefit but it will be difficult for the court to overlook the proofs presented before it.
