MALDA: One more person has been arrested after a youngster, in his early twenties, was lynched by a mob in West Bengal’s Malda district.
Like Tabrez Ansari, the deceased was identified as Sanaullah Sheikh has been accused of bike theft.
However, the local mob instead of having him arrested allegedly lynched him after staged stealing incident.
“He was asked to start a bike so that he could be framed as the one stealing it,” an official told The Hindu.
A purported video footage of the attack that was reported on Sunday had gone viral, showed Sanaullah, both bleeding and pleading while the assailants hitting the innocent youngster in his private parts as he groans in pain.
After the attack, Sanaullah was given first aid but as his condition further worsened, he rushed to local primary health centre, from where he taken to Malda Medical College (MMC). He was then shifted to Kolkata’s SSKM hospital where he breathed his last.
Earlier, on the basis of video footage, police identify the culprits and arrest two persons in connection with the lynching incident.
Sanaullah, was married and lived with his three children, wife and mother in Chak Meherdi. After his tragic death, he has left the family without any earning member.
