Makkah, September 07: Police are currently detaining a man in his 40’s accused of sexually abusing his 16-year-old daughter over a period of five months. The man used to assault his daughter when her mother was away from home.
The mother, who started suspecting the health condition of the girl, took her to hospital for a medical checkup. She was shocked when doctors informed her that her daughter was pregnant. The girl burst into tears and confessed that her father had been sexually assaulting her for five months, Al-Watan newspaper reported on Tuesday.
The woman lodged a complaint with the police against the father, who was soon arrested. Police took the girl to hospital for another medical examination to confirm the pregnancy and obtain a detailed medical report.
A police source said that the man would be prosecuted if it was proved that he was sexually violating his daughter. The National Society for Human Rights in Makkah is following up the case.
